A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

Gotta Vent and Prepare for Battle

The hills are alive infested with the sounds of music city folk.

While the drive home for hubby is a nightmare every Friday and Saturday of the summer as the city empties into the mountains, the holiday weekends are a million times worse.  Hubby's hour+ drive home last night took over four hours because the city folk flooding to the mountains and thinking it is perfectly fine to drive 15mph in their RVs and with their trailers on the freakin HIGHWAY!

Now, while I know no one who reads this blog would ever be so discourteous, and my city friends are all very responsible when they take trips to the mountains.... if any random city folk happen to stop by, I think I should give them a little advice...

If you can't drive at least close to the speed limit, either don't come up here, or come up at midnight the day-before so that you don't clog up the ENTIRE highway for hundreds of miles!

Second... have some common courtesy!  Pull over and let the 10 to 300 cars pass you who are trying to get home after a hard days work.

And third... I don't come to your city and dump my trash all over it.  You see where I am going with this?

Okay.  I feel a little better now, but don't be surprised if you hear a little screaming coming from the hills south-west of Denver for the next few days... there is a LOT of weekend still to go.

Preparing for Battle.

So what will I be doing this weekend... besides having an aneurysm from how many city people are trashing my world right now?

Avoiding the Invasion Force... staying home and trying to ignore the six-bajillion people flooding to the mountains.

Fortifying My Position... mixing and pouring concrete.  Yep... still working on that.

Inspecting the Survival Rations... grilling steaks and hot dogs.

Guarding the Home-Front... making sure a crap-load of fireworks falling on my yard and house don't burn the whole thing down.  ( Thanks to extra-rude dog-hoarding neighbors that light off fireworks pointed right over my house. )

And... hopefully... Surviving the Auditory Assault... of blaring music, racing ATV's, hollering kids, drunk adults, and at least a thousand more people in our near vicinity than I am used to.

Yea... I don't live in the mountains for nothing.  I am possibly one of the very few people who grew up to be exactly what I wanted to be when I was a kid... a hermit.

So, deep-breath, and here we go...

I am right beside you and will help Vent. We never go anywhere near your mountains for any holiday. I am sorry that Hubby had to be one the road so long.  I have known at least 5 other families over the years that have or are living up not to far from you and they have always said the same things you are saying. Holidays are to be a joyous occasion not a nightmare. Hope you can have a good cookout and a little peace and quite.

At least the rain has seemed to settle down the rowdies a little, but I don't expect that to last.

I mean... I like a good party as much as the next person... well... if that person were a semi-anti-social-hermit.  LOL.

I just wish it didn't trash the area so much.  Though I will admit, it seems that Coloradans in general are more respectful of keeping the mountains and forests clean than in some other places I have been.

we hate being behind the turtles on the road too...... even doing the speed limit, if we weren't going with the flow, we'd pull off & let others pass us...once you come up on a turtle or a snail & lose your momentum, you are just screwed, and it's not worth blowing your engine to get it back.

love your blogs.
