A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

Roof Gutter... Finally.

While I like the do-it-yourself life, sometimes it just is beyond reasonable to do something on your own that will cost as much or more to get the supplies as having a pro do the installation.  It was definitely this way with the gutter for the back of the house.  While the roofers were originally supposed to install a new gutter when they replaced the roof, they took the money and never came back, and we have been left without a gutter for way too long.  And a 73ft metal gutter rated for our large single-slope roof is just not something I have laying around... literally for a rainy day.

So after many failed attempts at getting companies to get out here for a quote, and way too many of them only having 3 or 4 inch wide gutters available, hubby and I were at the end of our rope.  I was about to try folding some of the metal sheeting from the old roof just to get the water running away from the foundation on the back of our house!

Instead I contacted HomeDepot, and they really came through.  Not only sending a guy out to estimate the job quickly, but also getting the installation scheduled in a pretty good time-frame, too.

And now... despite my having had almost nothing to do with it, I am quite proud of our new gutter and very relieved that all this rain will not be pouring down so close to our foundation anymore.

Of course this means that it will probably stop raining in our area tomorrow and we will not see another drop of moisture all summer, but for the safety of our foundation... I'll take it.
