A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

A Gory Tale for Halloween

Happy Halloween to Everyone!  While I would like to just supply you with cut pictures of scary pets, and long lost pumpkins from years gone by...
Ten

The faint of heart should probably skip the rest of this post...

Not too long ago I found a dead mouse in our little tea-garden-loft.  I quickly guessed where he came from... there was a slight gap in the wall next to the electrical socket.

Besides keeping our younger cat from making a pukey mess in the loft, I feared that she might eat a poisoned mouse and get sick... er.  So I put up a board to keep her downstairs until I could repair the wall.  Of course, this was a while back, but in the spirit of getting something done this week besides the ton I did Monday and Tuesday, I grabbed a bucket of spackle and headed upstairs.

Sure enough... this was definitely where the mouse found it's way inside from the wall.  (Less understandably is how it found it's way here across the entire bedroom from the location on the back of the house where the mouse poison was.)

He/she had obviously found the small gap next to the socket and chewed it into a fully mouse-sized hole before coming out into the loft to die.  But what is that?

We don't have any old cloth wrapped wires in this house.... a furry wire???  What?

Oh!  Ewww!  Long before a mouse chewed it's hole through the wall, some other mouse managed to force his way into my wall socket, died, dried, and hardened... wrapped around the wiring of the electrical socket.

With disposable gloves, half-a-dozen garbage bags, and an industrial bottle of Lysol, my socket is now mouse-free.  But I think I may put a whole bottle of expanding pest foam into the wall there in addition to spackling closed the hole in the drywall..... Just....... Ewww.
