While waiting on my workshop floor paint to cure, and anxiously circling the shop to peer in at the windows and doors... I finally realized that I could be doing something very productive with my time instead of wasting it. Not something fun mind you... but productive.
So Friday and Saturday, I started re-laying patio bricks around the workshop. Like I said... not fun. Worse yet was having to dig up another foot of grass that seems to be growing out of semi-solid concrete to get the right width on the long side. However, it is looking pretty nice, and will look even better when I get the retaining wall blocks back in place and the edge filled back in.
While digging too-hard dirt-gravel, shoveling sand and gravel, and hauling hundreds of bricks again wasn't fun at all, I have to admit smacking the crap out of bricks with a dead-blow hammer is actually kind of therapeutic.
At the right corner of the shop there is a strange gap that is too small for a row of bricks, but too wide for a brick on its side (and too shallow for a side brick anyway). I think I will need to color some cement red and fill the gap in that way later.
Unfortunately, Sunday I had to go to town and do more shopping… went better than the last two shopping trips at least. So today, I was planning on finishing more of the bricks. I would at least like to get a few feet away from shed to get the snow and rain running off and away for this winter. However, the wind is just so icky today. The gusts are not as huge as the other day, but they are more frequent and I just don’t want to do anything at all. Except maybe make some soup and lay in bed all day.
Yeah... soup sounds like the way to go.
