Broken Vacuum Fix and Some Baltimore Pictures
My vacuum hose stopped sucking this morning.  I thought there must be a clog, so checked the common places like where the hose goes into the vac.  Nope.

How to beat the heat... and some Thailand Pictures
Thailand was H..O..T.  All caps with spacing between each letter, and I am pretty sure bold and italic should be used there.  Not just hot, but the kind of heat that's like a sauna in the sun on the sun kind of hot.  And humid to the point of trying to figure out how a person could be so dehydrated when obviously breathing 90% water.
I thought I was pretty ready for the heat, knowing we were going to Thailand at the peak of the hot season.  But really, is there ...

"Rough" doesn't begin to cover it.
My head feels like someone filled it with expanding foam and let it harden.  Yeah.  Not so nice.

Simbad's dyslexic girlfriend sews him some cargo pants.
Ummmm, yea.  Anyone remember the 80s or early 90s MC Hammer or "Simbad" pants with the crotch down to the knees?

Preparing for a huge trip and a "Miracle Shopping Pack"
I know, I know... I have been promising to write a big post about my first trip out of the country to visit Hubby where he is working in Colombia.  But... I don't have time for that right now.  Why?  Because I am preparing for a huge trip to tour Thailand with a stop-over in Beijing, China.
Yep.  And if the planning alone isn't enough to send me into permanent cardiac-arrest, the hidden costs associated with it definitely are.
The trip itself isn't as expensive ...

A Quick Winter Drive
I know it has been a long time since I posted last.  I have done a few little projects around the house, traveled on my first international trip, learned some interesting things about Colombia, and managed to expand my spanish vocabulary by about fifty times from what I knew.  (Which still isn't saying much.)
And while I know I should prepare and finish a half-dozen posts about those things, the fire is warm and my butt is lazy, so this is about all the updating I am up for...
I ...

The damage a single bolt can do.
Hubby and I went to lunch in town yesterday to use up another Groupon that would expire while he is traveling and had some great food at a Peruvian restaurant.

New Addition to the Car Family
Hubby and I have been in a dilemma about cars… It seems silly that we need a minimum of three, but with hubby driving as much as he does, it is an all-too-common event that one will be broken in some way before the next is fixed, and when that happens I am left without transportation.  Not that I want to go anywhere when I have a car, but when I don’t… I suddenly get the urge to go to town for no apparent reason.  And while I sometimes get hives from the mere thought of going to town alone, when I don't have the option it ...

How to Make Your Own Cooling Bands
My recent trip to Topeka, Kansas was a long one with no air-conditioning, but having some cooling bands really made the difference and I had a fun time with my niece on her driving trip to visit my parents.  I wrote a post about Road Trip Tips with some additional information about types of cooling bands, but since I have a hard time finding cooling bands when I need them, I thought I would also write up a ...

Road Trip Tips
Last week I took a semi-last-minute trip to Topeka with my niece to visit my parents.  And while a toss-it-in-and-go kind of trip was the standard when I was young, as I have gotten older I have realized a few things about long car trips.  For example, the fact that road trips just are not as much fun as I thought when I was a kid, and for some reason everything in the world isn't really six hours away.  And sadly, my stomach is no longer made of iron and capable of downing large quantities of greasy fast food at random. ...
