A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

Broken Vacuum Fix and Some Baltimore Pictures

DIY   travel

My vacuum hose stopped sucking this morning.  I thought there must be a clog, so checked the common places like where the hose goes into the vac.  Nope.

So I took every part apart that I could (what a dust bomb!) and washed every piece and then let them thoroughly dry over a fan.  I have done this a couple times before to get the vac all clean, but I still didn't find any particular reason for the clog.

Put it all back together and…. Nope.  No suck.  Darn!

But, as my dad has taught me… if it doesn’t work you just have to figure it out.  Started tracing along every flow path and finally found that the push-lever that swaps the air flow when you push the hose end back into the vac, was jammed in place somehow.  Grabbed it with some needle nosed pliers and pop.  Back in the right place and springy again.  Vac sucks nicely and bonus… all extra-clean.

And... well... yeah.  This is the biggest post here for a while.  So to catch up a little:

Having hubby home for a few weeks was great but he got an allergy & sinus sniffle and I got a full blown sinus infection thing that knocked me on my behind for several days.  Was pretty glad he was home to take care of me.  About when that just started clearing up, hubby's work decided that he needed to drive out to Baltimore and be there until they can find a new project to put him on.

I drove out with him to keep him company (and to listen to him read me two books).  And then stayed for a little over a week.  It was pretty boring at the hotel, but fun when he got off work and over the weekend we went to the National Aquarium in Balitimore and then on a hop-on-hop-off bus tour of sights and museums in Washington D.C.

Here are just a few pictures from the trip:

Then I flew back home and am mostly trying to rest and get all better from the sinus stuff and a painful heel that I damaged back in September and just won't fully heal.  Got assorted meds from the doctor yesterday, so hopefully will start getting all better.

Was there ever any doubt that you would get to the heart of the vacuum's sucking problem. Good job.
Looks like you had a great time with hubby and good eats while close to the ocean. You both looked relaxed and that is a great thing is this day and time.

Yep... we didn't get to do a whole lot since hubby was working most of the time, but it was a lot of fun anyway.  I hope that I will be able to fly back out and drive with him back here or to where ever they decide to send him, but they do such short notice on things like that... I am not sure we will be able to work it out that way.
