A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

Landscaping

From this....

To this....

------------------

This last week has been dedicated mostly to improving the landscaping in the "yard" portion of our property.

Cleaning up and adding bushes to the area next to the curved walkway.

Adding plastic weed barrier to the retaining wall bricks to stop weeds from growing up against them.

Then cutting and hacking a track for the edge bricks and adding weed barrier... not only does it stop the weeds on the mulch side, but allows mowing right over the brick edge on the other side.

And finally filling in with 10 more bags of mulch and mowing the "grass".

It almost looks green from the side, but from the top you can see how sadly the lawn actually is.

A few years ago the edge of the grass area by the retaining wall started a transformation.... The goal was not only to reduce the area of "grass" that needs special watering, but also to change the yard a little from haphazard and faltering landscaping, into something that looks a little more like "I meant to do that".

Not a very easy transformation.

And Now......

There is still a lot of work left, but if I can make just a little progress each year..........

And we all know how long even a "simple" fix takes
Or you get all done just in time to start over

Yeah… I still have to pull up and re-lay all the bricks in the other half of the patio as soon as I get done painting the rest of the house.  Always something.

Looks really nice

Thanks!  I know a lot of this would be easier to do on the occasions that hubby is home, but then we would not be able to have fun vacations.

So much to do and so beautiful when done. There is so much to be said for all you do but one thing for sure, you do fantastic work.

Thank you Punkin!  It is a lot of work, and I get side-tracked often since it is hard to see what the end vision will be.  Will get there eventually though... and then start working on other areas... like a sitting area and path in the aspens.

I have no doubt you will have a very elegant and very appropriate walk as you never say never no matter how difficult the project is.
