Landscaping
|
From this....
To this....
------------------
This last week has been dedicated mostly to improving the landscaping in the "yard" portion of our property.
Cleaning up and adding bushes to the area next to the curved walkway.
Adding plastic weed barrier to the retaining wall bricks to stop weeds from growing up against them.
Then cutting and hacking a track for the edge bricks and adding weed barrier... not only does it stop the weeds on the mulch side, but allows mowing right over the brick edge on the other side.
And finally filling in with 10 more bags of mulch and mowing the "grass".
It almost looks green from the side, but from the top you can see how sadly the lawn actually is.
A few years ago the edge of the grass area by the retaining wall started a transformation.... The goal was not only to reduce the area of "grass" that needs special watering, but also to change the yard a little from haphazard and faltering landscaping, into something that looks a little more like "I meant to do that".
Not a very easy transformation.
And Now......
There is still a lot of work left, but if I can make just a little progress each year..........
