Sweet Tooth Pizzas for Valentines Day

Valentines Saturday was another pizza-making day.  It started with getting my dough a little too wet and sticky by adding about one tablespoon too much water while the dough was processing in the bread maker, but it only takes a little more work to get it back to perfect...

If you got your dough a bit too wet and sticky, don't worry.  In the kneading process just add a couple tablespoons of flour and knead it in.  Eventually it will get to the tacky-slightly-sticky-but-not-sticking-to-everything stage that it should be.

(I added this tip to the full pizza making guide here.)

We made two batches of dough (enough for eight little 10 inch pizzas) and I tried out a stuffed crust that turned out great, but made the dough a little thin in the middle.  I think the stuffed crust would probably be a bit more successful when being used on a larger 12 to 14 inch pizza.

Even better was the dessert pizzas we made.

So I hope everyone had a great Valentines and here are the dessert pizza recipes:

Pizza Danish...

Mix about 3 tbsp cream cheese with 1 tbsp sugar and 2 tbsp powdered sugar and add 1/2 to 1 tsp flavoring (we used orange flavor, but you could use vanilla or any flavor)

Spread on prepared pizza crust and sprinkle coconut shavings on top.  Then sprinkle a little coarse salt or sea-salt on top.

Bake until crust is golden brown.

Pizza Nut Pie...

Rough chop about 1 cup of walnuts (or other nuts) and spread over prepared pizza crust.

Then prepare brown sugar crumble by blending 1/2 cup brown sugar with 2 tsp cold butter until it forms little lumps.

Drizzle maple syrup on nuts and add crumble topping.  Then sprinkle a little coarse salt or sea-salt on top.

Bake until crust is golden brown.
