A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

Walking directly into the workshop.

DIY   ideas   tools   woodworking

On days like this with 6 inches of snow on the ground, going outside to get to my workshop is the #1 reason the workshop got smooshed right up against the house.  I don't need to battle snow to get in.

Of course it took half of the morning to get a clear path to the door.  It has been almost a year since I was able to get there without stepping through a combat obstacle course.  Sadly it means getting to the kitchen is now impossible, because all that stuff has to go somewhere. But who cares when I can pop into the workshop and get the rest of the french cleats up that I worked on pretty much all day yesterday?

After spending most of the day preparing the table saw, making cuts, and sanding, and sanding, and sanding, I started hanging cleats at the top.  Then it was easy to hang the following rows with a couple brackets that automatically set the next cleat at my chosen height.

I also made my first hangers to go on the cleats.  Just a test mostly, but it gets some light available for the first time inside the workshop.  I decided I didn't want to hang the lights directly from the ceiling when I thought it was going to have rigid foam up there (easy to damage).  However, now that it has OSB covering the ceiling... I may just hang the lights directly instead.

In the meantime, this bracket light will help out in the evening while I decide exactly what to do about the lighting.

Unfortunately, I will need quite a bit more wood to build all the boxes and racks for tools and storage, but I hopefully have enough to get started.

Love how all of this is coming together. If you want you can have lights any where.
