A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

A Furry Update

I am pleased to update that Hamper is recovering much faster than I even dared to hope after his stroke on Tuesday night.

While yesterday he could barely stand without assistance and could only walk a few steps if he pressed against the cabinets for support, today he has made it the 20+ feet from his litter box down the hall and across the kitchen three times already.  To say he walked would not be accurate.  It was more of a semi-controlled stumble, but he only fell down twice and each trip has been closer to a regular walking pace, and closer to walking.

I walk with him in case he gets too tired or spins-out on a smooth tile, but he gives me a look like... "Thanks for getting that foot going again, but I got this mom."

Oddly his raised level of awareness has made it even harder for me to do normal things like get a cup of coffee, because he notices if I move my hand away from his bed even while I though he was sleeping.  He did allow me to do a load of dishes though... as long as he had direct line of sight the whole time.  I think that was okay only because he thought (rightly) that I would bring him some wet food afterwards.

Hamper has also been eating and drinking well, though I still hold the dish for him or it will be spilled.

Sadly, our younger cat Ten is following her wild-instincts and hissed and tried to drive Hamper away from the food dishes.  I know it is often nature for wild animals to drive a sick or weak member of their "pack" away, but it sure would be nicer if she would give him a cuddle instead.

Of course, since he can't hear, the hissing didn't seem to bother Hamper at all, and he is getting a ton of cuddles from me and gentle cleanings with a damp cloth. ( Sorry kitty... my tongue just isn't built for that. )

So I will probably still be spending the next few days camped in the dining room day-and-night with him, but if his recovery continues at all like today, he should be able to fully get around on his own again very soon.

I had just begun an email when this arrived. I thanked the Lord for his answered prayer and the prayers will continue and the news of recovery is just wonderful.
You and Hamper will have your very own camp out or maybe hubby will join in.
More well wishes and prayers coming your way

We wish Hamper a speedy recovery!  It is really hard when a family member is not doing well.  Hang in there.  Sending hugs and kisses your way.

so sorry to hear about your fur baby.  it is awful when our little kids are sick.  really a good sign that he's trying so hard to be up on his own so quickly.    the fur baby is doing better than I am.    more later when I am up to it...

Hamper thanks everyone for their well wishes.  He is moving around even better today and heads to the litter box on his own now... though he still has a somewhat difficult time getting in and out.

Still eating good and drinking as well, so I definitely have hopes for a full recovery.
