A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

Time for healing the heel.

A while back I had gone in to the doctor for an assortment of things, and one of the things was pain in my left heel that would not go away since back in September and kept hurting worse and worse if I walked or stood much at all.  It hurt a lot in the back of the heel and doc suspected tendinitis.  Which… it was… cause I used the anti-inflammatory ointment and did exercises and the back-of-the-heel pain went away after several weeks.  However, with that pain gone, I realized I got the tendinitis from unconsciously straining to prevent heel impact that caused tons of pain in the heel pad itself.  The tendon pain was masking the real problem.

So I finally went back to the doctors today and insisted they x-ray it.  Yep… I have a little boney heel spur.  That is when a growth on the bone of the heel is just in the right place to hurt like hell when impact pressure is put on it from walking or standing.  Or at least that is how I understand it.

I know it sounds strange, but I am almost a little happy to know it is something in there and not something I was doing.  I kept resting it, and babying it, and switching shoes, and was feeling kinda failure for it just getting worse and worse.

So I will be making an apt to see the podiatrist that comes up to the Conifer area (where my doc's office is), and find out what to do about it.   My doc suspects it will need cortisone shots, but we won’t know for sure until the podiatrist checks out my x-rays.  Hopefully it will get better soon as I already have a long list of summer things to do that include some heavy landscape repair and to finish painting the 2/3 of the house I didn't get done last summer while I was building a shed/workshop.  And I also need to finish pulling up and re-laying about 150 sqft of patio bricks.  None of which will be very possible if I can’t stand and walk around a lot.

Well! This doesn't sound like a fun thing, however you are right about finding out what is wrong. It is a relief to just have an answer and can look forward to getting it fixed and relief form a lot of pain.
In the meantime rest the foot and draw up all your big plans for the summer.

I am glad they found the problem but that won't help the discomfort. However, you do deserve a rest lady. Take care.

Thanks.  Am doing pretty well other than the heel.  Just glad to know what it is and hopefully get it fixed up.
