A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

Replace a damaged trim section, and Painting the House is "Done".

To save my sanity I finally had to separate the projects of "painting the house" and "fixing-scraping-sanding-painting the fascia (roof edge) boards", as well as the doors, and a few bottom boards that can't be done until the patio is pulled up, etc....

And while I have some vague hope the weather and my body will magically improve enough to make some progress on those very separate projects, I am proud to announce that "painting the house" is DONE.

.........

One of the projects I did in the last few days that I was first thinking would be separate, was this damaged section of trim on the front edge of the house.  Getting it done wasn't as difficult as I feared, but while my new board matched well in width, it was a quarter inch too thin.

First came removal of the damaged area... two angled cuts with the circular saw made pretty quick work of it, and follow up with the multi-tool helped as well.

The multi-tool also makes quick work of cutting away the caulk around the damaged board.

Unfortunately, with my board being thinner than the existing trim, I had to build a bit behind them with some lathe boards.  Installation of the new board (with matching angle cuts) went quite well.  Then it was just a matter of re-caulking.

After some paint, the fix is clear if you look for it, but not something that catches the eye otherwise.

So... still on the list is doors, the fascia boards, and a few bottom boards, etc....... but I am seriously beginning to think those are things for NEXT summer.

Thank you.  Sometimes I feel like I will never get a project done, but it feels really good when it is.
