A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

A Better Mouse Trap and Thumb-Thimbullina

Just sewing up a storm… and did a couple days of jam making as well.

Hubby and I are going to a craft festival in Brighton on Saturday, so am spending pretty much all my time trying to have enough hosting aprons and jams ready.  Hard work… hopefully is worth it.

In the mean time, hubby has been helping catch up on some of the chores around here and while cleaning up the pile of cardboard boxes for the recycling, he found a mouse hiding among the boxes.

We quarantined the area with boards, but didn't know exactly what to do with the mouse once all the boxes were out of the way and he was hiding in a corner between some boards.  But then I looked down and saw a paper towel cardboard thing (pronounced "toodaloop" in my family) and thought well.....

I had hubby closed the far end of the toodaloop and place it on the floor near the mouse, then I poked the area with some cardboard and he ran right into it.  Then hubby picked it up and pinched the other end closed.

Ta-da!  Mouse trap...

Okay... so it probably won't be a patented method of mouse catching since you would have to be waiting to close it up, but for quick mouse transport, it worked pretty well.

Also not on the list for patents is my new method for pushing needles into a few hundred folds for ruffles.  Yes... super-glue a small piece of rough vinyl to a thumb.
Silly
May be strange, but it stays on well and doesn't interfere with grabbing and positioning the needles.  Of course, it would be easier just to have a few hundred of those pins with the big balls on the end, but until I get some of those, this works and is all I had available to work with.

So here is to quick... easy... and strange.  Cool

You two need a vacation! LOL
Cute mouse trap, glad it worked.
Strange maybe but if it works why not. Would a thimble be of help?

Yea, and on top of all that, we have been cleaning up for my parents coming to visit, too.

The trouble with a thimble is that I have to pick up and position the pin with the same thumb, and would not be able to do so with a thimble.  However, I had hubby pick up a bunch of those pins with the little balls on the backs, so I will be able to push them without trouble now.
