A2 Hosting still has not fixed the Database after their servers failed AGAIN. A2 Hosting is the WORST!
Because of this, new posts are currently missing and I can only HOPE they eventually recover the table they didn't restore after their latest failure.

New Tools and Project Plans
I love my family and my in-laws... and not just because they are all amazing people, but also because they know a girl can never have too many tools.

A Quick Winter Drive
I know it has been a long time since I posted last.  I have done a few little projects around the house, traveled on my first international trip, learned some interesting things about Colombia, and managed to expand my spanish vocabulary by about fifty times from what I knew.  (Which still isn't saying much.)
And while I know I should prepare and finish a half-dozen posts about those things, the fire is warm and my butt is lazy, so this is about all the updating I am up for...
I ...

A Confusing Morning
I have trained my new phone to wake me up with a soft alarm and then a minute later to turn on some music (since it is just about guaranteed that I didnít get up by the alarm).

Halloween Treat.
I have been so sad about my favorite drill.  It has been missing since about the time hubby and I replaced the door and did all that stuff and I was beginning to think it had been carted off with the trash and debris from replacing the door.

Happy Halloween!
There are actually very few things about living in the city that I miss.  One is our great neighbors, and the other... is Halloween.  While the trick-or-treaters were often bundled up in snow-suits over their costumes since Halloween is often one of the coldest nights of the year in Denver for some reason, now and then we would have a year warm enough to see all the cute costumes.
And of course, sadly it seems that the majority of costumes are now store-bought with little thought and ...

First Snow of the Winter
While the furnace finally kicked on the morning before last, and the kitties have been telling me "Itz Cold!" for a week, and they finally convinced me to excavate the wood stove that was buried under tools and summer construction supplies yesterday, and I finally re-set the thermostat to winter settings... I just can't seem to accept that it is winter until the first snow sticks to the ground.

Of course, with it ...

Quick Bare Phone Pocket / Slip Case
I have finally gotten smart.  Well, at least my phone has.  There was a good deal on Groupon for a refurbished fancy, at least compared to my old style, phone and free service from FreedomPop.  (You can see my review of FreedomPop at the end of this post.)

And then I fell down...
Like I was shot by an invisible sniper, or someone had just yelled "Take cover!"  In fact... I don't think I could have intentionally thrown myself to the ground that effectively if someone was shooting at me.  I would probably just stand there looking dumb.

Tidy Up.
As summer fades away and fall starts stripping the aspen leaves, I have a tendency to push aside any thoughts of cleaning and press firmly on the panic button for all the last little things to do outside before it starts staying cold all day.  Surprisingly this fall, most of the things left to do actually involve cleaning, or at least some attempt to tidy up the projects that hubby and I have gotten mostly completed.
For example, cleaning up that big pile of dirt by filling back in the holes over the septic tank ...

How to Grill Wall... Maybe.
While I would like to say this is a "How To", I am reluctant to say so when I don't know how long (or short) this grill wall will last in the outdoor weather.

So I "Painted" the Shed...
I have been terribly torn about the paint I got for the shed.  It was too light, and despite the best efforts of the paint mixing person, the best we could do is a little less too light.  The color is probably still too light for the house, but it looks great on the shed, and I am kinda in love with the color.
So I painted the shed...
Or maybe I painted the ...

Septic Saga
ArrrrGGGG!!!!!  There is a multitude of reasons that I generally Don't Like People.  And People in general seem constantly at the ready to reinforce that they should not be liked.  But today one person in specific wins the prize.....

An Assortment of Projects and Progress
After some sealing and painting of the trim around the doors, I needed a little break... and this is what my "spa" evening looked like.  A bucket full of epsom salt-soak for my feet, some sun-burn gel for my arms, a bowl full of grapes, iced sweet-tea, and some of my favorite TV shows.  It doesn't look like much, but sometimes the little things at home are better than ...

Sneak Peek
I still have to seal around the edges with silicone and painter's caulk and get some touch-up paint, so I will post a more complete bit of information about installing the new door and trim later, but I am almost done with the doors, so thought I would give a little sneak peek...

Project ADD
I am suffering from some severe Project ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder).  The problem is, when I have one project that can't be worked on right now for whatever reason... time of day, forgotten supplies, or simply because another project needs to get done first as a needed step to getting done the next project... another project gets started.  And this isn't exactly something new.
Even as a child, it all started with one thing tumbling into disaster.  For example... something as ...

Patio Progress
After counting all the bags of concrete and using most of them to fill in around the broken slab we had, the "grill paddy" is looking pretty good.  So yesterday I made some nice progress in re-laying the patio bricks.

The Terrible Mistake of Counting
Yes.  Counting.  I got up early (well early for me) yesterday and got busy mixing concrete to finish filling the mold for a couple benches and a small patio coffee table.

I can't be annoyed at the low-mid-grade 1/2 hammer drill from Harbor Freight for dying for two very important reasons:

I am Done.
No, the list isn't done... don't I wish.  No, I am done... D-O-N-E.  Yep.  At least for a good several days, if not more.  Hubby seems to be in slightly better shape, but I am beginning to think he will see going out of country for work to be a nice break.  LOL.
